This is a game for the ATARI ST mono. It is written in GFA BASIC 3.6. It is not tested on a real machine and it is possible, that it can't be run on it. You can try to run DWBATARI.PRG or DWBATARI.GFA in a GFA BASIC interpreter. DWBATARI.PRG runs with the emulator hatari 1.8.0 and its built-in EmuTOS-image (https://hatari.tuxfamily.org/download.html). DWBATARI.PRG also runs with Steem v3.2 and the TOS-ROM tos1.02de (http://steem.atari.st). There are also no compatibility problems with the STEmulator from the late 1990s. GFA BASIC was chosen as programming language to write a program compatible to EmuTOS.
There is an error occuring with Steem v3.2 (and not with hatari 1.8.0). The mouseclicks on the upper half of the RESTART and the QUIT button are not processed.

This game is for two players. The computer calculates nine screens with 16 cannons of different size. The first player can choose a screen with the arrow buttons at the borders. This is done with the mouse. The objects with the white interior belong to the first player. He clicks on one of them to select a cannon. Then shot direction and explosion distance can be entered with the keyboard. The explosion distance mustn't be on or beyond the borders of the gamefield. The distance to the border in the direction entered before is calculated and displayed on the screen. After the shot is performed, it's the other players' turn. A shot can cross the borders of a screen but not the borders of the gamefield. The screens have the dimension of 600X320 pixels. All eight cannons of the other player must be destroyed to win the game.
